Back in late 2010, not long after the success of the TV series "The Choir", professional opera singer Victoria Simmonds was asked by a friend if she had ever thought about starting a local choir. She thought this was an excellent idea, and proceeded to put up posters inviting people to come along and sing. She had no idea how many might turn up, but to her delight, 25 people arrived for that first rehearsal, and thus, on 11th January 2011, West Harrow Choir was born. Cut to the present day, and many members who came along that night are still coming along every Monday. We are now a mixed choir of between 50-60 men and women. Not much else has changed, though - all are welcome, there are no auditions and all music is taught by ear.
